It may have been a professional remark of a confidential nature, but the
moments must have been very bad ones indeed. The Master himself had
not once been heard to complain. Indeed through his competitive career of
a half century he had probably won a considerable number of games by
being a very little more patient than his adversary. Nor was the Master one
to exaggerate his unhappiness or discomfort.
