69 Not for Profit
To make a profit leads to implant a desire.
To have a desire leads to want a profit.
A bodhisattva doesn’t do anything for profit or for desire.
The bodhisattva acts -- not for profit and not for desire.

(COMMENT: Motivated by compassion, a bodhisattva vows to take
countless rebirths to save all sentient beings from the suffering cycle of
birth and death. Recited in every meditation session, the four
bodhisattva vows later will become your blood and flesh, guide you
through the darkness of ignorance.)
